Birthday's Are Magical

So, I am one of those people that absolutely adores their birthday...really. Brett even told me (as I was a little sad at mid-night) after my "special day" was over, that he had NEVER met anyone who loved their birthday, more then me. Its true.

But can you blame me? In my house growing up birthday's were amazing. You got to do whatever you wanted and force whoever you wanted to join you. You got to eat on a special plate, select your fav dinner, you got presents, you didn't have to do chores and...you got to pic out whatever cake you wanted. In short, my childhood birthday's were pretty magical.

My 24th birthday was no less magical. Brett really stepped up to the plate. Well...in all areas, but one.

I came home from work and brett had slaved away making me a beautiful cake for my birthday. What a man. I thank him and then examine the cake. "Brett?"...yes..."What kind of cake is this?" Brett-"Its fun-fetti cake with vanilla frosting"..."Brett, isn't that YOUR favorite cake?!" And thus started a heated debate about if birthday people really get to select their own flavor of cake...THEY DO! It was a pretty good time, and it will definitely be a good story for the children.

Other then "the cake" and the fact that I was "deathly-ill" my birthday was amazing! We had a fabulous lunch in westwood, good delicious ice cream sandwiches, and went to one of my favorite places in the world, The Getty Museum (in LA). And (being serious) the best part was that I got to spend the WHOLE weekend with my sweet husband...bliss.

The boating of Eden

I love going to Eden, UT every year with the fam. I love it so much I almost want to re-dact the promise I made to Brett when we got married, that I will never make him move to Utah.

Celebrity Sighting...sort of

Yes, it's true Brett and I got to see The Beal Family!!! It's so rare and we feel so honored that they had dinner with us when they were in town :). I got to meet Brigitte, which was really such a treat. This girl was AMAZING! Totally the offspring of Christy and Gabe. Spunky, energetic and completely entertaining. She was so busy and happy. I can't wait to hear the hilarious things that come out of her mouth in a few years. We had such a fun hour and a half.

(This was our first attempt...clearly we needed a do-over to get rid of Christy's "uni-curl" and my "super cheese face")

(Better, but I over corrected slightly in the smile department)

(Yeah...I actually got to hold Brigitte!!)

Is there anything better than a hubby who cooks?!

Brett and I occasionally challenge ourselves culinar-ily. Brett has recently decided to make homemade pizza's his creative outlet. He makes the dough, and the sauce FROM SCRATCH (obviously not the cheese and pepperoni from scratch, I mean does anyone even know how to make those things?). So I ask you is there anything better than a husband who cooks? I think it is AMAZING! I get homemade pizza about twice a week!

Although I've become lazy in the cooking department since starting work again. I decided that I wanted to cook something "hard" that I had never made before. I went on Williams-Sonoma's website and found this little gem. It was rather delicious if i do say so myself. The cake had almost the consistency of a doughnut and the "frosting" had ingredients like marscapone cheese, vanilla and sour cream. It tasted divine!

We do fun stuff....

We went to Maui with my familia! We are so lucky that they still like to take us on trips. We felt like we won some sort of sweet vacation from Regis and Kelly. We are SO spoiled, or as my mom says "well taken care of."

Cave of Love...Documented

I've wanted to document "our first place" for awhile now. Its been nice that i've have 3 months off to get it all settled :) But, I am on "break" no longer and will be going back into the work force Monday. No more "stay at home wife"!

For those of you that live far away, or have not been invited to our "cave of love yet" here is a sneak peak. (We call it our cave of love because our ONLY windows look out to a GINORMOUS rock wall, which blocks most light available to our little apartment...hence, cave of love)

Cutest Nephews and Niece EVER!!!

We got to go to Disneyland with our passes for one last time before school starts again....AND we got to go with Cass and our niece and nephews! It was SO fun going with kids.

I got to carry Avery in what I called the "pack-pack"...I loved being an aunt and playing mom a little. Several people commented on how gorgeous my daughter was and told me congratulations, it was pretty funny.

The boys were adorable too. Colin wanted to go on the Madder-Horn SO bad, luckily super cool uncle Brett came to the rescue.

Cass got to stand by the "C" and take a pic, it was pretty special :)

We loved our Disneyland Day!!!
