Brett's B-Day

My attempt at making a "2" and a "6" out of candles - ha!

It has happened once again...Brett had a Birthday and we are now the same age.

I haven't decided yet if I enjoy being a "cougar" for those four months or not.

But, B-Money is now the ripe old age of 26.

We had his fav, funfetti cake with rainbow chip frosting.

It was delish.

Baby Boy's Room

Here is what I am thinking for Buddy's room.

I'm going to make the bumper out of the animal grey, aqua, and yellow fabric.

Then, I'm going to add other elements that are not animal related so I don't have to be connected to any sort of "theme".

I'm also, mixing in some ocean/surf aspects.

I can't wait to order the fabric and start creating his room!

30 Weeks

A lot has happened since we found out we are having a boy....

I'm now 30, well, almost 31 weeks pregnant and so far so good!

It feels SO close now.

Almost like I could have him any day, but hopefully not for at least 8 weeks.

Ok, this picture is a little cheesy, but you get the idea... pregnant-baby bump.

So here's what we've been up to:

Thanksgiving with my fam. just outside Zion National Park - a blast!

I had my Thesis Art Show, and graduated!

I got to see my adorable/talented sister play water polo.

Brett and I had our Annual Montgomery Christmas Party with some of our friends (and I got a new camera for graduation so my photos will hopefully improve :)

We celebrated "Fake Christmas" with the Jackman's and had a fabulous time.

Buddy had his first magical experience at Disneyland!
(We have been calling our baby Buddy, since he is currently nameless)

We celebrated actual Christmas with the Montgomery's, complete with a Mexican Fiesta for Christmas Eve at Cass and Chad's place.

And I just had to share this photo I took the other day at the beach - gotta love January in La Jolla!

There are so many reasons why we are super excited! Boys are so fun.

Now, we're off to Boston on a "Babymoon" to celebrate!

Bump Watch

I saw this super cute chalkboard pregnancy count on Pintrest

...so I thought I'd try it
Mine is not as cute as the original (I won't show you because you'd really be able to tell my chalk amateur-ness), but it might have to with the fact that my chalk is only 1 color and about 2 inches thick.

Update:

  • I now sleep with multiple pillows on my back and front, didn't know this was needed before you have a legit bump, but there it is.
  • I try to hold real still to see if I can feel any baby movement, but not quite yet :)
  • I feel like nobody told me how hard it was to eat small meals every hour. It takes a lot of planning. Maybe its getting me ready to plan for a baby.
  • My pants are unbuttoned about 100% of the time - yes I use the rubber band trick.
  • I've started feeling the need to make my face and hairlook a little better then normal in order to compensate for other areas.
  • The moodiness has started - oh my poor Brett.
  • Brett brought me flowers for the 2nd time since we've been married. It really was a delightful fall miracle!!!

Julian

I have lived in San Diego for 8 years and this year I was determined to go to Julian.

Julian is this adorable little town 1 hour outside SD where you can pick apples and such.

Brett and I went there.

But we did not pick apples.

We did however, go to an adorable little restaurant.

Walked the pioneer-like town streets.

And, last but not least we got a famous Julian apple pie. And let me tell you, that pie it did not disappoint.

PS: Yes, we did wear matching plaid on purpose - of course Brett's idea.

Side Note: I've been a little crazy lately (with the whole pregnancy thing), maybe a little sensitive, mainly when it comes to Brett.

So, before our trip to Julian I cut Brett's hair and he looked SO handsome. And he looked really good in his plaid too. I told him I felt like I was on a date with a totally different guy. He said actually he was "Merrill" (which is his middle name and I guess also his alter ego).

So, Merrill and I had a fabulous date in Julian. He was so considerate and fun (maybe he was just extra nice to me because I threw up on the road to Julian). But, I hope Merrill and I get to meet up again soon!

Which One???

So, the question is, which one of us is 3 months pregnant?

If you guessed me (Krystle) you are of course correct, congratulations :)

Baby Montgomery is Due March 22nd!!!
(which just happens to be a day after our 3 year anniversary)

We are of course thrilled/excited/& super happy!

Baby Sister Comes to Visit

All my dreams came true the last week of summer...my favorite little sister came to visit me!

She is seriously the coolest!

Well, just look at her. She's gorgeous, has a great sense of style and she's funny to boot!

Sadly this is the only picture that was taken from our fun-filled weekend.

Had a blast Kass, thanks for hanging out with me!

Wedding!

We've had a bit of a celebration in my family recently. The wedding of my little bro. to Kayley Johnson (now Jackman...I'm guessing that was a pretty smooth transition, last name wise, for her, but I'll have to ask her.)

They got married in the SLC Temple and it was fab! Great weather, wonderful sealing and reception. They were happy and totally in love, which is always a good thing.

So happy for Mr. and Mrs. Trevor Jackman!

My adorable sister and cute cousin Cate.
Our good family friends the Jung's came all the way from Hawaii, it was so good to have them there.
The whole crew.
The fam. with the new addition!
Our table at the reception, not too shabby.
More cute cousins and aunts and uncles.
My dad's side of the fam.
My dad giving his speech, which was pretty hilarious. He referenced, Napoleon Dynamite, computer hardware (Kayley/Trevor 2.0), something about Kayley's brother being a policeman and how he can keep Trev in line etc. etc.

Brett also gave a speech as best man which pretty much stole the show. The rest of the evening I was getting compliments on my funny husband.
The most tender part was when my brother said a few word and got all choked up, saying that he married his best friend - so cute!

Congrats Jackman's!

Lots of Things

Its been awhile. I've just been indulging in the laziness of summer.

Its sad, and a bit embarrassing to admit, but I don't know how I'm going to go back to school (which is only a few days a week). I'm too used to my "do whatever I want, everyday, for three months" - thing. I know quite a rough life.

Here's what we've been up to.

I went to Mt. Pleasant Utah and saw my sweet Great-Grandma Staker.

I went to the Padres Baseball game with my two favorite guys: Brett and My Dad!

We had a bridal shower for our future sister-in-law Kayley!

Went boating with the fam and rode a tube with the sibs.

Got to hang out with our cousin Nadia from Texas.

Went to the cutest little store EVER "Dear Lizzie" with my mom and grandma (Kate you would LOVE this place).

This drink was called a "Dizzy Lizzie" and it was divine!
I played to my nostalgic side and picked a few raspberries in my grandma's yard.

Next stop my brother's wedding next week in Salt Lake!

The 4th

Let me tell you, Redlands knows how to do July 4th!
It really is so great in the cute little town.

It just feels....nostalgic.
The way you picture the 4th of July in your perfect world.

Almost every house has a flag, and almost every house is having some sort of BBQ, perfection!

We had several BBQ's throughout the weekend, thanks to my party throwing mother-in-law.
They were all delicious.

Here are some of the pics from our Independence day extravaganza!

Adorable Veggies cups - Chris's idea.
Paige - her outfit was just incredible
Brett's Cousin Blake and his wife Whitney (this was both mine and Whitney's 3rd, 4th of July in Redlands)
Chris and Avery (Chris MADE her adorable 4th dress)

Oh, and one more confession. I found this scooter this weekend, and its basically my dream scooter. I know its not that practical but, if santa wants to just take a note of it, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
