As per Sondra's request. The punk kid:
Ok, this one isn't that bad.
But, as I was perusing our photos I didn't find many of him with a hat and glasses.
Maybe, because its not my fav look - i dunno :)

We were waiting in line at our favorite "man food" place in San Diego - Phil's, and a cartoon artist drew this of my sweet husband.
He does not believe me when I tell him he looks like a punk kid, when he wears a hat. But, I think this picture pretty much tells the true story.
PS: But, don't worry, I still love him. Especially today, the day of love. I just hope he doesn't wear a hat to dinner.

I have not made Valentine Cards for a LONG time. Brett and I remember, with great sadness, the Valentines of 2009, where I FORGOT about Valentines. Yes there were lots of tears on my part - embarrassing!
SO, I was determined to not let my loved ones down this year. Enter - Valentine Card Making Party 2011. It was "sweet"...pun definitely intended.
Come on - we HAD to do the heart pic, so classic.
These little hearts of heaven are called "cake pops" - just think of the most delicious treat involving cake and these were it!
OMG - Kate called this her "PG-13" Valentine... Am I lucky to have such hilarious, spicy friends, or what?!

That's pretty much what my life has been like the last month and a half. I know, it has been pretty spectacular.
School has started, but, its a bit slow. I'm attempting to connect with my inner artist and discover what I want to do for the next year of my life. Hopefully I'll figure it out soon. But, until then, I think I'll just go for jog-walks on the beach in the middle of the day (I'm not quite fit enough for a full on jog on the beach).

Staring longingly at the beautiful landscape.

Oh this is good....
Check out my friend Matt's comments on this week's Bachelor - Here!

(Ricky Hendrick and Emily)
I had to blog right after I watched on Hulu...because the "next week on The Bachelor" preview was disturbing.
I am SO upset with the producers for sending Emily to the race track. Straight up Insensitive for real. Especially since I spent TWO hours of my life watching the Rick Hendrick Motorsports Story on you tube and it tells all about Emily's finance, his death, his amazing family etc. URK!
Ok on to this week's episode:
Who is LISA?
Who is that other girl I can't remember her name?
Definitely a surprising rose ceremony.
The girl who will not be named (but just think of the one with the most drama, selfishness and sneakiness), of course she got a black eye "something like that would happen to her" and "deathly afraid of heights" PA-LEASE! She is SUPER good at making stuff up, isn't she?
Brit - good for you! (I feel like I can relate to her, like I would be Brit if I were ever on the Bachelor. Quite at first but spicy. I'd like to think I'd be Emily - but who are we kidding I'm not that sweet :)
Ashley (crazy one)- should have gone home. He should have pulled a Jake and sent more people then he should have home, for sure. I want to like her, but, she just keeps making me not like her, with all her crazy!

I have a question for everyone. Do you like The Bachelor Brad? Think about it...That's all I'm asking. Think about it. Because that is what I've been thinking about all week. Is Brad worth watching this season. And you all know that I am a HUGE bachelor fan. But, honestly this season has been STRUGGLE FEST!
I just don't know how many "Can - I - Hug - You?"... "Can - I - Kiss - You?"... "Please - Don't - Cry" statement's I can take (the dashes were added to emphasize the slowness with which these statement's were made.)
OK - now that I'm done being Debbie Downer about Brad. Let's move on.
Emily: Who doesn't love her! You just want to shrink her down and put her in your pocket and take her out and have her be adorable. So much more classy then Michelle about her daughter.
Which brings us to...
Michelle: What the heck! Is she is a lil' evil or what? And I'm sorry using her daughter to play the sympathy card is just wrong.
General Statement: Season after season it is the same set up 25 girls dating 1 guy. And every season they're so upset "it's so hard" 25 women (or girls if you're Michelle) after 1 man. They are SHOCKED! It really is entertaining.
And well, lets face it. Living in a world with practically zero drama its pretty exciting to watch. Despite all you flaws Bachelor show, I still love you.

4 lb 6 ounce little boy Brett was born this past week. He is now the big 2-5, yipee! We had a super casual get together with some friends and a little cake and ice cream. Brett of course ordered his usual, Funfetti Cake with Rainbow Chip Frosting (NOT the funfetti frosting, supposedly its not quite up to par).

But really the highlight of the night were these little gems (our friends little ones):
...especially this one (nice goat Tim)

We kicked off the New Year right, with one of my fav's Torrey Pines, whoop whoop! We had a really fabulous weekend spending a lot of time together, which was nice after so much time apart during December.
Here's some pics from our bonding weekend:

It doesn't take much to get me to watch the Bachelor (really only 2 phone calls from friends to be exact).
So, I'm in. (reluctantly)
Here it goes:
The first question, of course, is - Brad are you here for the right reasons? he he
Second, girls, I've said it once I'll say it again...DON'T do the boob dress pull up thing on TV, NOT GOOD.
Did anyone else think it was comical when Brad would let out a huge sigh of relief when someone would tell him that they didn't know who he was. Fewh!
What's with "J"...really, that's your whole name?
Emily, cute, widower from West Virginia warms my little heart and I usually don't go for the single parent - over played.
Which leads me to my next comment - What is with the single mom from Salt Lake?! Her "jungle dress" her "I'm not a girl, I'm a woman speech"....gross.
Why is there always someone who thinks its a brilliant idea to express their feelings through song...badly?
The Cherry On Top
If you ever had any doubts that producers of The Bachelor have some sort of say in who he/or she picks, doubt no more...The girl with actual FANGS, that's right FANGS, made it past the first night...suspicions CONFIRMED!

So I didn't take ANY pictures during Christmas...or New Years = Lame-O. Therefore I haven't really known what to post, so I decided to steal pictures from family and friends that have blogged about me and Brett to attempt to compile our Christmas story.
A few days before Christmas I was forced to go to that horrible place called Hawaii (sarcasm) for my beautiful cousin's (well, almost a blood cousin) wedding, with my lovely mother. I am lucky, I know.
We had a kia soul for our car, yes we did watch and sing the hamster song many, many, many times.
The beautiful "Kathleenie Beanie" (now Mrs. Harris Clarke)
Next we had what my family affectionately calls "Blowout Christmas 2010". After years of Trevor not being there, going on trips instead of Christmas, we had a real live Christmas extravaganza. It, was, AMAZING...to say the least. Go Santa Jackman :)
Note Trevor's "sick" jacket, as he called it. Trev, you might want to put something I little, I don't know, ,more exciting on your Christmas list next year. Take note from me and Brett (ipad and surfboard). Santa was really like make a wish foundation this year!
Tucking Kassidy in...so tender.
Side Note: My mother is an amazing picture taker and great documenter of every moment of our lives. Its a gift really, she's had no formal training and she doesn't even have to look while taking the pics...amazing :)
The Jackman Fam is always good for some athletic adventures and we love it.
Thanks for an amazing Christmas, you guys are literally THE BEST!
